The title comes form Kurt Vonnegut's book, "Cat's Cradle," as the name of the amoral but brilliant scientist who accidentally destroys the world with Ice-9, an alternate crystallization of water that is solid up to 114.4 degrees Fahrenheit which seeds and rapidly crystallizes any liquid water it touches.Ben Perlinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00912782678263465378noreply@blogger.comBlogger3125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3425241294746086466.post-85621856041078207732017-12-20T13:25:00.000-08:002017-12-20T13:25:11.834-08:00One last Hurrah for Net-NeutralityBefore the most recent vote on net-neutrality I made several pleas to save the net on my primary website https://ben-perlin.github.io//index.html, on my photo blog https://benperlinphotography.blogspot.com/2017/06/a-plea-to-defend-net-neutrality.html and again https://benperlinphotography.blogspot.com/2017/11/support-net-neutrality-again.html.

The vote did not go as hoped and the chronies at the FCC voted to kill the Internet on December 14th. The fight is not over though, so, to make one last hurrah to save net-neutrality go to https://github.com/save-net-neutrality/ to contact your representative to force a vote on saving the Internet.

Thank you for your time,

In the news recently is a lawsuit against the FCC for failing to take action to separate the "fake" anti-net-neutrality comments submitted by ISPs using customers' real names from the real ones created by actual people who do not want the Internet to be even more corporate than it is now. As a reminder, it is not to late to keep fighting for net neutrality at Save the Internet.
For a list of "Hello, World" programs in different languages see the Wikibooks on "Hello, World!" As you can guess by now if you are still reading, the purpose of this post is to test the blog so that I can see how the platform renders different layouts.

"Hello, World!" programs have become so ubiquitous that GNU even has a hello program available in most Linux software repositories.

The concept of "Hello, World" is so ingrained in computer science that it has even become the subject of a number of jokes such as this one from GNU. A framed, handwritten 1-liner C version was even auctioned off by Brian Kernighan.
