Hello, World!

For an overview of "Hello, World!" see the Wikipedia article on the topic. For a list of "Hello, World" programs in different languages see the Wikibooks on "Hello, World!" As you can guess by now if you are still reading, the purpose of this post is to test the blog so that I can see how the platform renders different layouts.

"Hello, World!" programs have become so ubiquitous that GNU even has a hello program available in most Linux software repositories.

The concept of "Hello, World" is so ingrained in computer science that it has even become the subject of a number of jokes such as this one from GNU. A framed, handwritten 1-liner C version was even auctioned off by Brian Kernighan.
